Dec 16, 2013   //   by Christian Hine   //   Char-Meck Beat, Christian Hine  //  4 Comments

chutes_liberty[1]Citizens in the Lake Norman area are announcing this week the launch of a new group called Lake Norman Conservatives. Monthly meetings are open to the public and are designed to inform citizens about issues impacting our community, state, and nation. The founders of the group are Carole Gibbons, Mary Lou Richardson, and Sharon Hudson of Huntersville, and Vallee Bubak of Davidson.

Meetings will be held on the last Thursday of each month, with a social hour from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. and the program starting at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend and both men and women are invited.

The first event will be a U.S. Senate Republican Primary Candidate Forum on Thursday, January 30 at Fox & Hound Restaurant, 8711 Lindholm Drive, Birkdale Village, Huntersville. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations will ensure a seat. To RSVP to this event, please send an email to lakenormanconservatives@gmail.com. Additional information is available at www.lakenormanconservatives.org.

“While working to oppose the I-77 toll lanes we met many like-minded individuals in the Lake Norman region,” said Sharon Hudson. “We want to provide a way to help citizens become engaged in issues important to them, to give them a voice and to provide a forum for open discussions.”

“Whether the issues are toll lane proposals, Obamacare, or the education mandates called Common Core, every citizen can make a positive difference in the direction of our government,” added Vallee Bubak. “Our group’s founders have witnessed the impact that a small number of people can make by speaking up about policies – whether they are local or national – and the importance of joining together on a regular basis to inspire and encourage one another.”

About Lake Norman Conservatives

The mission of Lake Norman Conservatives is to help preserve our freedom by informing the public regarding issues that impact free markets, limited government, individual freedom and personal responsibility on the local, state and national levels; and to provide citizens with the knowledge, tools, and encouragement necessary to support candidates and elected officials who promote and defend these values.

  • Very excited to see the Conservative/Tea Party Movement continue to grow in Mecklenburg County!

People are waking up to the need to hold politicians from both political parties accountable for their actions. We can no longer pull our punches because an elected official wears the same jersey as ours – they need to be called out when they are no longer serving the People’s interest.

Congratulations Carole, MaryLou, Sharon, & Vallee!!!

  • God forbid the meetings only include old, bald fat guys. I’m glad you clarified who can attend.
