Well, it’s not April 1 so we’re assuming this is legit. The following was posted by County Commissioner Bill James on his Facebook page:
You have heard of the French Connection. Here is the “Black Connection”.
About 200 years ago, a man was born (Issac Baker). He was black and as a child, he and his parents (newly married) were driven out of NC around 1810. He lived a long life and in 1911 near the end of this life he sat down to take a family picture. He is my great-great-great-great-great Granddad and he was Black.
The picture above shows five generations in one place at one time.
Me (1/64th black)
My mother (1/32 black)
My grandmother (1/16 black)
My great-granddad (1/8 black)
My great great grandmonther (1/4 black)
MY great great great grandmother (1/2 Black)
My great-great great great granddad (Black)
My good friend Normman Mitchell said he ‘always knew’.

I am a ‘soul man’ for sure. Though the ‘greats’ I wrote were incorrect. it is
Me (1/64th black)
My mother (1/32 black)
My grandmother (1/16th black) not in picture but her sister is the baby
My great-grandfather (1/8th black) in picture- adult on right
my great-great-grandmother (1/4th black) in picture – adult second from right
My great-great-great-grandmother (1/2 black) – not in pic but her sister is third from the right
My great-great-great-great-granddad (Black/minority) Adult on the left
He was taken by his parents who had to flee North Carolina because of hatred and racism in NC at the time that occured around 1810. They fled to Eastern Kentucky.
