Charlotte Obama Protest: 4/2/10

Apr 2, 2010   //   by Christian Hine   //   Char-Meck Beat, Christian Hine  //  2 Comments

As President Obama visited Charlotte on April 2, 2010, he was met with over 600 protestors* on the corner of Carowinds Blvd and South Tryon Street.   More pictures of this event can be found on the PunditHouse Facebook fan page located here.   Please feel free to tag any folks that you may know!

Thanks goes out to Charlotte Tea Party HQ, CAUTION, and a number of local activist groups for helping to spread the word about this event.  (If your group was there, pass on the contact info to us so we can post a link!)

*A quick note about the numbers…  Mainstream media is reporting that only about 250 protesters were in attendence.  When the motorcade drove by on it’s way to Celgard, this would be an accurate count.  However, since the motorcade was earlier than expected, and blocked traffic for quite some time, as the scheduled event time of noon approached, a second wave of attendees flooded the intersection and easily numbered an additional 400 or more to the earlier group.

  • Protest was sincere but respectful. Diverse crowd. Lets do it again. Bring John Spratt home.

  • Well, the “again” will be on April 15 from 3-5pm in uptown Charlotte (or is it downtown again now?) at 600 E. Trade Street. Hope you can make it.
Amen about Spratt. Did you pick up a Mulvaney sign at the rally? His supporters were out in force this morning.
