After months of speculation, South Carolina’s version of John McCain now has an official primary challenger.
At a rally on Saturday in Charleston, Nancy Mace, daughter of Brigadier General James E. Mace and the first woman to graduate from the Citadel, outlined her vision for her race against Lindsey Graham.

What is “conservative” about Graham?
I suppose a bat-crap crazy wing nut would think otherwise. The majority thinks he’s conservative. Ms. Mace sounds like she would fit right in at the same asylum Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are from.

Sorry. After Obama’s re-election and the Senate outcomes last year I was chatting with an Upstate campaign vet about the near political future and asked how Jim DeMint would go about helping to unseat Sen. Peckerwood. Long pause.
“Jim will find a way to duck that fight.”
Not weeks later, DeMint punted a likely lifelong Senate seat for a think-tank post inside the Beltway. Yea Change Agent.
No. The fix is in. Do not begin to delude yourself that Mace has a shot. She is a lamb to fill the slot, bleed off anger, and in the end keep the perma-war mil-industry spending flowing to SC.
‘Senator Peckerwood’ is contemptible. He is right up there – or down there – with McConnell and Tillis. I campaigned door to door for Reagan before I was even old enough to vote and have only ever voted for one democrat my whole life…but between Lindsey, McConnell, Tills, Rucho, Samueson et al…I am all but done with the Republicans. They are repulsive.
