NCGOP Hall of Fame Dinner Meets Competing Straw Poll

Nov 17, 2011   //   by Christian Hine   //   Carolinas, Christian Hine  //  7 Comments

The North Carolina Republican Party is hosting it’s biennial “Hall of Fame” awards banquet this Saturday evening in Cary, NC.   As part of the $125 a plate fundraiser, officials are conducting a straw poll of attendees for various contested primary races across the state.

With the high cost and travel commitment for the event, many conservative grassroots organizations anticipate scewed balloting resulting in “establishment” favorites and those with bases of support in and around Wake County to have the upper hand in the poll.

To coincide with the Hall of Fame poll, several statewide Tea Party leaders, spearheaded by Jacque Esslinger of Henderson, have created an online web poll that will be open from Friday until Saturday night at 9:00pm.

To participate, you will be asked to provide your voter ID number.  This number is a matter of public record and is available through the NC Board of Elections website. You can look yours up HERE.  This will ensure that only registered Republicans and Unaffiliateds participate, and that each person can only vote once.

Starting Friday, November 18 at 12AM, go to http://www.thecarolinapatriot.com and cast your ballot.  The poll will run through 9pm on Saturday, November 19.

  • I can’t afford the $125 a plate because the government has decided that my money is put to better use in there hands. Davidson has a cable company to run and they are forcing the taxpayers to pay even if they don’t use MI-Connection’s services. Should we start an “Occupy Davidson Town Hall” ?

    • The gov takeover of local cable was probably one of the most insane ideas ever. Not only do they not have a clue how to run it, but you’re right, if you use it, you’re paying twice and if you aren’t you still get soaked.
Government should be OUT of anything the private sector can do. Period.

If you have any write-ups on this for the less informed, and if there is any movement at foot to dismantle the gov takeover, feel free to contribute that to us. We’d be happy to post it.

  • The poll is open now, so vote and let your voice be heard! Who do YOU want to be our next President?

  • The results are in! See how your candidate fared by visiting http://www.thecarolinapatriot.com/ now!

  • Please take down, dismiss or at least marginalize this poll immediately; it is not to my liking.
