Today, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) announced his endorsement of Dr. Greg Brannon for U.S. Senate in North Carolina.

“I enthusiastically endorse Greg Brannon for U.S. Senate because he’s a true constitutional conservative who will join me in fighting against business as usual in Washington.”

“Americans are looking for leaders who will honor their oath of office by fighting to ‘protect and defend’ the Constitution and Greg is the clear choice for conservatives in North Carolina.“

“The American people don’t want more politicians in the U.S. Senate who will continue to expand the size of government. We need Greg in the Senate to provide vital reinforcements to help reverse out-of-control spending, restore constitutional limitations on our federal government, and fight back against President Obama’s agenda.”

“And as Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and I showed clearly in our campaigns, when you run on principle and excite the grass-roots Republicans, and Independents and even Democrats hungry for a change, you win. That’s why I support Greg Brannon, and expect him to be North Carolina’s next Senator,”  concluded Senator Paul.

Senator Paul’s endorsement is sure to take the Brannon campaign’s momentum to an all new level as conservative support from across the state has surged in recent weeks.

The pro-life Obstetrician’s campaign has energized conservatives who are excited to have an anti-establishment candidate in the race who will oppose the Big Government, big spending status quo in both political parties.

“I urge conservatives in the state of North Carolina and across the nation to rally around Greg Brannon by contributing generously to his campaign and joining the grassroots volunteer effort to ensure that there is a strong Constitutional conservative Senator from North Carolina,” said Paul.

Brannon thanked Senator Paul for his endorsement.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Paul, a true champion for liberty in Washington. Senator Paul has shown principled leadership in the U.S. Senate and I look forward to the opportunity to join him in this fight,” said Brannon.

  • This is big news and erases any questions in my mind about the legitimacy of the campaign. There was nothing glaring causing me to be skeptical (minor things, some of which still probably need some tweaking), but I was holding out for a “sign from above” that it was time to just get on board. If Paul is willing to endorse, then count me in. With what just happened in the senate today, he needs all the help he can get!!

  • GregBannon.com is his web address. He spoke at Don Reid’s breakfast some months ago.

  • i’m not sure in light of the latest rand paul unveiling, that dr.brannon should welcome this endorsement.

    • Paul says,

“Ultimately, the United States cannot and will not take any option off the table in order . . . to deter Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, and, “We can and must use military force when necessary.”

You can, and should, attempt to convince your (what you believe to be) slightly off-kilter neighbor not to acquire a 12-gauge shotgun. But you cannot infringe upon their right to do so. THAT option is not on the table, and that’s aside from being hypocritical if you yourself own one. Sovereign nations are no different. What they do on their soil is their business.

Secondly, “when necessary” is at best a poor choice of words and at worst the carefully chosen words of a skilled politician. I guess that’s why he’s in office and not me, for I would have said, “”We can and WILL use military force when ATTACKED.”

      Paul’s own words:

      • I think this quote says something and nothing good from my perspective;

“Rand Paul’s been incredibly responsible,” Graham (R-S.C.), who has clashed with Paul in the past, said just before the Senate voted to end the government shutdown. “I’ve seen a side of Rand I haven’t seen before. That’s one of the pluses of this whole deal. He’s been great.”

      • That “Foreign Policy” piece contains numerous references by Sen. Paul to an “Iranian nuclear weapons program”. US intelligence and Israeli defense leadership acknowledge that there is not such a thing.

Here’s documentation of over one hundred and fifty instances of fearmongering about Iran’s non-existent “atomic ayatollahs” going all the way back to 1984. Some will object to the compiler’s anti-Israel tone, but nobody can deny the three decades of lies.

  • Hmmm. An endorsement from one of the crazies in the asylum. Prolly help him in the primaries, but ensure a loss in November.

    • “Prolly”? Really? What are you, thirteen?

      • I have socks older than 13.

        • Get a job and you won’t have to worry about that.

  • On a different note, Rand Paul’s 20-year old son was charged with underage drinking on Friday. He faces a $25 fine, payable, of course to the state. The AP article does not mention that the younger Paul was harming anyone or otherwise being destructive. I wonder if Rand will take a stand for his son’s private property rights or if he will support the coercive fine?

    • we can thank Liddy Dole for the 21 drinking age- although if young Mr. Paul was in KY, KY has always been 21.

      • You can also thank the monetary coercion that Congress uses against the states and the states, being without cajones, accept as a matter of course.
All they need do is say, keep your money and we’ll do as we please. (AS IF)

        • But, but, isn’t NC a welfare state? Would have to make do on our own!
